The National Railway Museum The National Railway Museum is the biggest of it`s kind in the world housing such exhibits as a collection of Royal trains, Mallard ,the record breaking steam locomotive, and Stephenson`s Rocket. A road train runs a shuttle service from the Minster every 30 minutes from April to October. The museum has an extensive collection of books, archives, photos, and posters.The reading room is free of charge from Monday to Friday 10.30 to 5 pm. An appointment is necessary.
